About me

My name is Katarzyna Arnhold.

I am from Poland, but I have been living in Amsterdam since 1998.

For me, music has always been a great passion and a vital part of my life. As a child I used to sing on any occasion, including on the train and on my bike, and I also took part in many song festivals.

At age seven I started to play piano and violin. Not only did I learn to play sheet music, but I also greatly enjoyed improvising in my own way. I still do both: I play classical music and jazz standards, and I improvise and compose my own music.

I graduated from The Karol Lipinski Academy of Music in Wroclaw, Poland, and then obtained my master’s degree at the Amsterdam Conservatory. Since 1992, I have been teaching music as well as composing and giving concerts.

In Poland, I worked at the College of Music in Wroclaw (PSM IIst.) and as a music journalist for National Polish Radio Wroclaw. In Amsterdam, I have worked for Muziekcentrum Zuidoost and Muziekschool Amsterdam.

I currently teach at music school ʼt Muzenhuis in Haarlem and in Lisse, as well as giving lessons to private students in my own studio.
